Moving IN Relocation Specialists
‘Welcome to Las Vegas!’ flashes the glittering 1950’s sign as you drive into town. Fun and adventure beckons on The Strip and in the mountains, but after packing up your home, 8 hours with the kids bickering in the car, one too many drive-through meals and hotel reservation issues, you are just too tired to care right now. Wearily you accept that this is just the start of the ‘family relocation adventure’.
I am sure you have been in this situation one time or another in your lifetime, or have friends who have.
We all know moving is one of the hardest things and one of the most stressful things to do in life, especially if you are relocating from another State or Country, and believe me I know that feeling. In 1987, I moved from Australia to San Francisco with my husband and two children (sadly leaving family and friends plus our pets, Kanga and Bengi, behind) and didn’t know anyone or anything.
We were put up in a condo for one month and in that time had to make some big decisions that would shapes our life for years to come. What neighborhood was the best for us? What areas are the good schools in? How to choose the most appropriate real estate agent, a family doctor, a dentist, let alone a babysitter! Opening bank accounts, obtaining social security numbers, connecting the utilities etc, etc! It made my first few weeks in the US frustrating and lonely. We then moved a couple more times before I settled in Las Vegas. From these moving experiences I started ‘Moving IN Relocations’. Just think of me as your local concierge.
Now, imagine if you can, arriving into Las Vegas after your 8 hour journey to be greeted by your own relocation specialist to make your move as easy and stress free as possible.
Moving IN Relocations offer a wide range of services ranging from home purchase or rental search, utility service start up, home unpacking through to neighborhood familiarization tours; it all depends on each client’s circumstance and personal requirements.
Earlier this year we assisted an executive couple relocating from New Zealand with a 5 year old son. With the husband putting in long hours in the office we worked closely with the wife to find a home and settle in. One of the key concerns for her was driving on the right-hand side of the road and getting her Nevada driver’s license. So for a couple days she drove the most common routes she would use – to the office, to the school, to the supermarket, to the library – and I sat passenger side and shared useful hints on living in the desert, local news and, yes, a bit of gossip.
